Miko + Mollie hits the Port!

Over the last 6 weeks we have been busily building and opening our stunning flagship boutique in Port Adelaide. It’s nestled in the historic streets among hip new eateries, trendy pubs, art galleries and wine bars at 228 St Vincent Street.

We are beyond happy with the finished product and it is getting a lot of attention! It is a wonderful shopping experience for all of our customers, locally and those who travel long distances for our fabulous, personalised service and incredible range.

On Saturday 11 August 2018 night we threw a party to celebrate everything we have achieved over the last few weeks, introduce our new staff member, Ebony to our customers and family and friends, and share our beautiful new store with the public.

Our gorgeous guests enjoyed a decadent grazing table full of local produce including the best brownies in the West (from the legends at Mayfair Bakery and Patisserie) and Drummer Boy’s signature donuts and beautiful wines by the Engine Room, a delicious shiraz from Langhorne Creek and superb sparkling from the Adelaide Hills. We also treated our guests to the Port Local beer by Pirate Life Brewery for the Port Admiral and the Cherry Popper cider from our mates at Big Shed Brewing Concern.

It was so important to us that we supported our local friends in the industries that surround us. We are so excited for the new Pirate Life brewery to open up in Port Adelaide and we love, love, love what the guys at Big Shed are doing just around the corner.

Amazing things happen when you support local. We’re not just a clothing store. We are part of the local and national economy. We are creating jobs for our young people and spending money in our local communities so that other businesses can thrive and prosper. It’s such a beautiful thing to be a part of and the local Port Adelaide community couldn’t be a lovelier bunch of supportive and kind individuals (Phil from the Mayfair also ran around Saturday morning to find us DJ equipment when we had a slight technical issue!) That’s how great these people are! Come down to the Port and get around them. We have so many fantastic pubs, cafes, bars, breweries and restaurants and to top it all off we have some fabulous wine bars and art galleries. What more do you need for a great day spent in a beautiful historic location rich in culture and history, similar to the Docklands in Melbourne and Freo in Western Australia in its nature and locale and soon to be similar to these areas in its vibrancy and incredible offering. We can’t wait to see this area grow – it’s only getting better and better and it’s beautiful to know we’re going to be a part of it becoming a South Australian destination! You can too by enjoying all it has to offer!

The fabulous launch party was covered by the gorgeous humans at Clique Magazine (thank you Esther and Georgina!) and The Advertiser (thank you, Ash Pisani from the Messenger!) and if the photos are anything to go by, everyone was having an absolute blast.
